Sex at SXSW
What do rock, classical, hip-hop, country, Top 40 and indie have in common? Sex. From Ravel to Zappa, Magnetic Fields to Too Short, Loretta Lynn to Lady Gaga, nothing has inspired as many melodies as love and sexual desire.

The South by Southwest music, film and technology festival in Austin, Texas, acknowledges the great muse each year with a series of panel discussions, networking sessions and film premieres dealing in sexual themes. Influential adult-industry professionals, sex bloggers and sexual-health educators from across the country convene at SXSW to give the public its annual update on the state of sex, culture and technology.

Get dirty please, Columbus crafters
Several Columbus art galleries hosted erotic exhibitions over Valentine's Day weekend.  What if local crafters and craft show organizers staged a similar erotic event? Crafters in Toronto and DC organize annual sexy arts and crafts festivals with everything from hand-carved dildos to humping sock monkeys.

Bill would reshape state's sex education
It’s a big week for sexual-health education, as the Sex::Tech Conference will convene Friday in San Francisco, the city where all no-nonsense sex-talk seems to begin.

Educators, software developers, students and sexual-health professionals will spend the weekend discussing sex ed in the digital age. The main focus will be on utilizing new technologies in order to better educate youths on STD/HIV prevention and sex as they navigate through competing, often politicized sexual-health information.

Nothing's shocking
A 1968 Volkswagon Beetle driven by the country's most notorious serial rapist/murderer is now an exhibit at DC's National Museum of Crime and Punishment, the Tacoma WA News Tribune reported yesterday:

The front passenger seat is missing. Bundy removed it to make room for the bodies of his victims. A native of Tacoma, Bundy drove the car as he preyed on mostly young women in Washington state, Oregon, Idaho, Utah and Colorado in the 1970s. Police believe he used the car to commit 11 kidnappings and murders.

Apple bans sexy apps
In order to protect children and its brand image, Apple has banned bikini girl iPhone apps, according to an article published in today's NYT Tech section  (as first reported by TechCrunch).

“It came to the point where we were getting customer complaints from women who found the    content getting too degrading and objectionable, as well as parents who were upset with what their kids were able to see,” said Philip W. Schiller, head of global marketing for Apple.

Columbus maps its lovemaking
Colbert viewers and Playboy readers have already heard aboutIJustMadeLove, the user-generated site that uses Google maps to track where, when and how users “just made love” around the world and on your block.

Thanks to the mapping tool, web exhibitionists and voyeurs can give and receive their intimate data. For instance, the past two weeks of activity in Columbus include a lesbian couple who tried two different positions in the university district near fifth and high last Saturday, and that it was “!!!!!”, and a hetero couple on Sawmill north of Bethel who had a “great” time, with condom. A Dublin man near the Jack Nicklaus Freeway found his lady friend’s service “sloppy,” illustrating that the site can be used for evil as well as in good fun.

Disco stick, for real
Earlier this week, @adultnewswire Tweeted about the Best Schwag Ever. According to 69adget, (NSFW) a site that covers "intimate technology," this year's Grammy gift bags included OhMiBod's cigar-sized vibe that synchs with your iPod.

This changes the courtship playlist forever. The latest "Freestyle" model is wireless.
